My name is David Wertan ( wur tan like my shoes are brown but they were tan) Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and why you should let me help you with all your Real Estate needs.  Born April 11, 1965, in Charleston, SC, to Harry Wertan (Retired Automotive Manager from Sears) & Linda Williams Wertan (Key Punch Operator at MUSC), also both Native Charlestonians.

I reside on James Island with my wife, Debbie who is originally from Detroit, Michigan and sold real estate there before moving to our beautiful city and joining me as a team 18 years ago.  I specialize in the Islands, Johns Island, Daniel Island, James Island, Isle of Palms, Folly Beach, Sullivans Island, Edisto Beach and also Historic Downtown Charleston as well as it’s surrounding suburbs like West Ashley and Mount Pleasant.

I believe that Knowledge is the key to my being able to provide the absolute Best Service Possible and thus I am constantly attending extensive training programs like Five Star, CDPE or Certified Distressed Property Expert and and SFR or Short Sale and Foreclosure Specialist as well as many others.

I am a Leadership Charleston Graduate, Graduate of the Realtors Institute, and have Earned Both Investment & Residential Specialist Designations. I attend every Seminar, Workshop & Convention possible to remain on top of all the latest issues and regulations effecting real estate. Recently I obtained my 203K Specialist Designation to help buyers with the financing of homes that need renovation work and want to finance it into their mortgage.

I have been recognized for my Successes over the years and was chosen the 1989 Young Businessman of the Year by the N. Charleston Jaycees, and have been Featured on a National Television Show & in National Real Estate Publications for accomplishments in Real Estate.

Owing to this Experience, Success and Knowledge of the Real Estate Business I was asked to serve as the President of the Trident Real Estate Investors Group and was formerly an Advisory Board Member to Financial Freedom Report, a National Magazine with over 50,000 subscribers.

I have learned a great deal over the years, a lot of which came from owning my own Real Estate Company, Property Management Company & Insurance Agency before Joining RE/MAX in early 1990 but mainly from the thousands of transactions I have completed over my years of selling.

We enjoyed owning the RE/MAX offices in Charleston and  Mount Pleasant area but have sold them and joined EXP Realty, LLC, which is the nations fastest growing brokerage and is traded on Nasdaq at EXPI.  We love the new company as it is cloud based and offers the best opportunity for us to service our clients to the highest level.

I enjoy helping people and it is a very rewarding career.  When you call me you get to talk to me directly, not like some of the other high producing agents in town.  I always have time for my clients, my friends and my family.  I do so by prioritizing and avoiding time wasters like watching TV news.
